Lou-Anne's broadcasting career began in 1984 and she is most recognized in Sault Ste. Marie as the anchor of the CTV Evening News. Since her position with CTV was phased out and moved to Sudbury, she has been involved in marketing and community relations for the United Way, Collegiate Heights Retirement Residence, Sault College and the Bay Front Quality Inn. She was also an anchor with LTV News, now soonews.ca and eventually a freelance journalist.

She has been honoured for her work in broadcasting and the community with the Sault Star Readers Choice Award, the Media Tribute from the Ontario Community Council on Impaired Driving and the Media Award from the Sault Ste. Marie Kidney Foundation. She has served on boards and committees of Habitat for Humanity and the Red Cross and has been emcee for numerous charity events and celebrations in the Sault.
